POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for the overall administration and coordination of Payroll and Benefits. This position will keep accurate records to ensure that employees receive both the compensation and Benefits owed to them. This position will work closely with other members of Human Resources to ensure that leaves are documented and tracked appropriately in regards to their pay and Benefits. This position must keep meticulous records to ensure we are compliant with all state, federal, and organizational regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process payroll, including updating employee numbers, hours, garnishments, benefits, PTO, sick leave, etc.
- Run reports and preform pre-payroll processing activities to assure accurate payroll processing
- Verify employee timesheets to make sure they are accurate; verify for accuracy against PTO, leaves of absence, etc.
- Provide training to new hires and supervisors on the HRIS system in regards to payroll
- Leads benefit orientations, open enrollment, and other benefit training and implementation
- Serve as a liaison with various vendors, i.e. insurance vendors, benefits brokers, financial advisors
- Reconcile benefits assuring accurate enrollment and payroll deductions for all employee benefits
- Makes recommendations regarding changes in benefits, especially benefits aimed at employee satisfaction, productivity, and wellness
- Troubleshoot Payroll and Benefits systems issues and recommend and/or implement solutions to increase efficiencies, minimize errors, and enable features
- Work with employees on concerns revolving their paycheck or benefits
- Complete various end of year, quarterly, monthly, and mid-cycle reports including but not limited to: 1095, 5500, ACA, insurances, 403b, W-2's, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey a positive and professional image in person, and to interact effectively with diverse personalities and back rounds
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations as they pertain to Payroll and Benefits administration
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including excel, PowerPoint, recordkeeping, internet, intranet, database systems, and software applications
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality and professional judgment with handling matters of sensitive nature
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and possesses a sense of urgency
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work with ambiguity in an ever changing environment
- Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, executing deliverables within the deadlines established in a fast paced environment
- Must be willing to travel to other Zufall sites and attend offsite meetings as necessary
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required, Associates or Bachelors preferred
- 2+ years in either payroll or benefits
- Experience in health care environment preferred
- Experience with non-profit organizations preferred
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or payroll certification preferred
