The Payroll Administrator will perform a wide range of administrative and clerical functions in this role and be responsible for supporting Payroll activity both internally and externally (in accordance with company policy, procedure, and Federal and State regulations).
Duties:
- Coordinate and execute the weekly payroll process in JDE system.
- Set up, maintain and issue payments of court orders, garnishment and levies
- Set up required per diem certification documents.
- Update company vehicle assignments.
- Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data.
- Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave and non-taxable wages.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.
- Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
- Process and issue W-2 forms to employees.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end functions as needed.
- Participate in problem solving and special project within the Payroll Department.
- Understands Federal, State, and local wage and hour policies and employment tax laws; and performs action necessary to determine pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes, insurance, retirement, union dues, savings and other deductions.
- Maintain appropriate records, files and documentation for payroll and timekeeping systems and relative audits.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with JDE payroll preferred but not required.
- 3+ years’ experience in Payroll.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office including excel, word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
- Acute attention to detail and ability to promote high quality standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
