JOB DESCRIPTION:-
The Patient Collections Representative is responsible for handling patient’s questions, complaints, billing issues, claims processing questions, and any other patient billing concerns and explains the billing process in detail to patients. Representatives are also responsible for documenting all customer interactions in the appropriate computer system. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish all goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:-
· Answer incoming phone calls from customers and identify the type of assistance the customer needs (ex. Benefit and eligibility, billing and payments, authorizations for treatment and explanation of benefits.
· Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify specific questions or issues while documenting required information in computer systems.
· Own problems through resolution on behalf of the customer/patients in real time through comprehensive and timely follow-up with the member on the specified date given to patients.
· Review and research incoming healthcare claims by using the appropriate processes and procedures benefit plans.
. Communicate and collaborate with patient to resolve issues, using clear, simple language to ensure complete understanding to their billing statement.
· Review and sign all written instructions for any and all duties, which are subject to change with ample notice given.
· Meet the performance and production goals established for the position in the areas of: efficiency, accuracy, quality, customer and member satisfaction and attendance.
. Answering multiple calls during an 8-hour working day in a call center environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:-
· Minimum Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
· Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
· Medical call center experience
· Strong communication skills both oral and written
· Positive attitude, team player, “go-getter”, self-starter
· Ability to type 40 wpm
· Ability to navigate a computer while on the phone
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· De-escalation skills
· Explanation of Benefits Knowledge and ability to interpret
. Strong computer knowledge (Windows, PC applications, Excel and Word)
WORKING CONDITIONS:-
· Frequent speaking, listening via headset, use of hands/fingers across keyboards or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working on computer.
· Service center with moderate noise level to representatives talking, computer, printers and floor activity.
· While performing duties on this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit.
. Must submit to random drug screenings.
