Job SummaryThe Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and their families. This position will be responsible for scheduling appointments, answering phones and assisting patients with their needs. The Patient Care Coordinator will work closely with the clinical team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care.
Job Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Greeting patients with outstanding customer service and reviewing surgical consents, financial and demographic forms for patient check-in.
- Answering calls and obtaining detailed information to best schedule patient appointments for all 6 offices and following surgeons scheduling preferences.
- Assist patients with treatment plan and finance questions while providing guidance on insurance and billing processes.
- Maintain efficient office flow by effectively communicating with surgical team and Surgeons with any schedule updates throughout the day.
- Coordinate and confirm patient treatment plans with referring doctor offices.
- Follow-up with patients for missed appointments and unscheduled treatment.
- Collect payments and provide patients with financial estimates based on their treatment plan.
- Planning for successful and efficient clinical days by preparing and obtaining necessary referrals, images and or clearances for upcoming appointments.
- Monitor office supply stock and complete replenishment orders, as needed.
- Organize out-going mail and inner office mail and faxes.
- General office duties include filing, light office cleaning and organization of workstations daily.
- Take ownership and accountability to drive issues to resolution with minimal supervision.
- Maintain composure in difficult and high-pressure situations or discussions.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of previous related work experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, doctors and coworkers while maintaining a professional and courteous manner.
- Highly motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to critically think and manage scheduling for multi surgeons' schedules.
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Polite, well-groomed and professional
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
- Supports other team members to accomplish organizational goals.
- Reliable Transportation and the flexibility to travel to most of our 6 locations: Alexandria, Fairfax, Burke, Centreville, Reston, Woodbridge.
- Must be able to work full-time within our practice hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday- Friday. Business hours are 8:30am-5:00 p.m.
- Multi-practice locations (Alexandria, Burke, Centreville, Fairfax, Reston and Woodbridge, VA.) must be willing to travel locally.
