Part-Time Customer Service Representative

Job Title: Part-time Customer Service Representative/Accounts Receivable

General Summary: Under the direction of the Administrative Manager, this part-time position provides Customer Service support to the District’s members and/or potential new members. Initiates and/or implements corrective action as needed in order to ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Maintains customer records by verifying and posting payments and account changes in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Duties:

· Process and reconcile customer payments on a daily basis.

· Receive cash/check payments in the office.

· Receive credit card payments in the office.

· Accurately updates customer account and file information as needed.

· Handle customer calls and complaints via phone, email, and mail.

· Become familiar with the District’s map system and work order system.

· Sign up new customers for rural water service.

Minimum Qualifications:

1 year working in a Customer Service function; high school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills Required:

· Proficient communication skills emphasizing verbal and grammar skills.

· Strong analytical/decision making skills to efficiently resolve customer inquiries.

· Ability to work effectively with others.

· Basic planning and organization skills emphasizing multi-tasking.

· Effective use of personal computer, windows office products, customer billing software, and general office equipment.

· Basic math skills.

· Attention to detail.

Physical Demands:

Repetitive hand motions of relatively short duration.

Frequently sits.

Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, and stands.

Wage: $18.00 per hour

Work Week: 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
