Parks Operations & Maintenance Division
The Parks Operations & Maintenance Division, consisting of 63 employees, serves a growing and diverse population of 269,123 residents. We are stewards of over 1,500 acres, containing 70 developed and undeveloped parks, 60 athletic and multi-use fields, 155 ramadas, 100 playgrounds, 26 tennis courts, 9 pickleball courts, 35 sand volleyball courts, 60 basketball courts, 2 disc golf courses, 2 racquetball courts, 1 cricket field, 63.4 miles of walking and biking trails, 4 dog parks, 60 restrooms, 1 archery range, 1 skate park, 1 BMX bike park, 2 urban fishing lakes, and many more specialty parks and trail areas. The Park Operations & Maintenance Division's staff plays a critical role in the City of Chandler's quality of life initiatives by providing safe, clean, and well-maintained parks that offer exceptional recreational experiences. Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge and experience to perform maintenance, irrigation service, repair, and replacement in parks and possessing a skill set in carpentry, painting, welding, locksmith, electrical, and plumbing.

Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED; and
3 years of maintenance experience including irrigation and general facility maintenance; and
Backflow Prevention Testing, Welding or Playground Inspector Certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion; and
Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement;
or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired Qualifications
Coursework in plumbing, electrical systems, or welding;
Baseline fundamentals Irrigation Certification;
WaterSense or ALCA Irrigation Certification; or
Certified Playground Safety Inspector.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment DOT drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
