Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with various tasks related to legal cases and documentation
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and contracts
- Organize and maintain case files
- File documents with courts and other relevant agencies
- Communicate professionally and efficiently with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Perform administrative tasks such as managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant is required. A minimum of 3 years of legal experience OR equivalent mid-level business management experience.
- Proficient in using legal research tools
- Familiarity with document management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread documents for accuracy
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research using various resources
- Proficient in writing clear, concise, and professional legal documents
- Knowledge of filing procedures for courts and other legal entities
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
