Location: Madison, WI

Salary: 70-90K

# of Hours per week: 40

Work Environment: first 90 days 100% onsite, then 2 days work from home. After 5 years of employment, eligible to work 100% remotely

Candidates MUST HAVE: TRUSTS AND ESTATES EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years of paralegal experienceor project assistant experience at a law firm or legal department setting.

The Trusts & Estates Paralegal is responsible, among other things, for assisting with trusts and Estates matters under the supervision of attorneys of the firm.

The candidate filling this role will possess an advanced knowledge of:

• probate, trust administration, and estate planning, including preparing probate pleadings for opening and closing estates and other matters as they arise
• working with financial institutions to gather asset information and obtain valuations for inventories and tax returns
• preparing accountings
• managing the Trust and probate administrations
• preparing drafts of wills and supporting documents for estate plans.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
• Strong knowledge of fiduciary income tax principles is a priority.
• Proficiency in a tax preparation program such as Wolters Kluwer GEMS is PREFERRED
• Must have the ability to work in an organized, efficient manner under minimal supervision as well as take a proactive approach to being team oriented.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team as well as independently
• Trustworthiness to see project from inception to fruition

Experience:

• At least 5 years of paralegal experience
