Direct Hire opportunity- Up to $70,000/year
Our client, a highly regarded Madison law firm, is in search of an experienced paralegal to join their team in Madison!
As a Paralegal in this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
- Handling intake calls and scheduling appointments
- Claims setup
- Collecting, organizing, and summarizing certified medical records/bills
- Researching medical providers
- Collaborating with insurance carriers (liability/UIM/UM/subrogation)
- Scheduling depositions of clients, witnesses, experts, doctors, etc.
- Scheduling mediations and attorney meetings
- Working with investigators
- Preparing settlement packages
- Litigation support, including answering Interrogatories/Request to Produce, preparing Notice of Deposition, Notice of Filing Certified Medical Records, Request to Admit Bills, Witness Lists, and assisting with trial preparation
- Reviewing final liens and balances at settlement
We are seeking candidates with the following attributes:
- Good understanding of the personal injury process
- Ability to summarize medical records and bills (keyboard skills a must)
- Property damage handling
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Understanding of subrogation
- Strong phone skills
- Ability to assist attorneys with litigation work, from the discovery process through trial
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Three to five years of experience supporting personal injury attorneys highly preferred
- Paralegal Degree is preferred; however, experience in lieu of education will be considered
- Candidates with experience in civil litigation or insurance defense are strong encouraged to apply
