JOB SUMMARY
This position which requires an advanced knowledge of the aircraft paint process. The job involves supervising teams, training, and customer support, as well as the ability to evaluate and adjust manpower and schedules when necessary. Training and maintaining workflow will be essential. Job duties will vary by type and scope as designated by the Paint Program Manager. Will be required to work independently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Day to day management of production crew to ensure scheduling demands are met.
- Coordinate schedules with other departments.
- Training individual team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Prepare and deliver performance evaluations of assigned team members.
- Scheduling with parts department to ensure necessary materials required to complete the job are available.
- Assist in final inspection of aircraft.
- Maintain paint shop premises and work facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
- Many duties of the Team Leader Paint may be delegated by him to qualified subordinates as deemed necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the supervisor of the overall responsibility.
- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of aircraft paint experience required.
Must be familiar will all types of paint equipment.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Avalid drivers license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required

Self-motivated, can work unsupervised and able to maintain a rapid pace.

Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to supervise, motivate and direct staff.
Responsibility
Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Assist with painting, painting base coat and layout.
Follow all company safety rules during performance of duties.

PhysicalRequirements
Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
Work standing on ladder or scaffold
Mental Requirements
Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, haz mat, etc.
Ability to communicate and work with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner.
Ability to read various documents.
Ability to plan and organize procedures and operations.
Good communication skills.
Supervision
Will work under supervision of Assistant Paint Manager and/or Paint Program Manager.
Working Conditions
The majority of work will be accomplished in a heated hangar or shop area.
Work outside on ramp may occur.
Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
Equipment Used
Air equipment, polisher, sander.
Stripper pump, paint guns, wand, laser level.
Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.
Computer, copy machine, work order print outs and standard office equipment.

Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
