Two physician ophthalmology practice west of Fort Worth seeks an experienced ophthalmic assistant/technician, preferably certified. At least one year of experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician is preferred. We have two locations, one in Weatherford and one in Granbury. This position requires being able to work at both locations. They are both an easy 30 minute drive from Fort Worth! We are looking for a motivated, dependable, proficient, self-starter. We will consider part-time or full-time. A full time position would be for 32 - 40 hours per week and qualifies for benefits.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* ability to perform a variety of ophthalmic testing, including refractions
* skill with computer applications, including EMR
* attentive to detail and accuracy

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* room and prepare patients for physician; do a full ophthalmic work-up
* record patient information in electronic medical record
* prepare exam rooms, keeping neat and clean
* administer oral and topical ophthalmic medications
* operate ophthalmic equipment - such as phoroptor, OCT, IOL Master, fundus camera, visual field analyzer, topographer, lensometer, etc.
* perform refractions; measure intraocular pressure (Goldman applanation & Tonopen)
* explain treatment procedures, medications, or physician instructions to patients
* assist physician with in-office ophthalmic procedures
* maintain/ clean/ sterilize ophthalmic instruments or equipment; dispose of contaminated supplies
