SalaryWe are looking for a friendly, hard-working, ambitious, Ophthalmic Technician to add to our staff. Barrett Eye Care has been in business for just over 19 years and we continue to grow at a rapid pace. We have 2 office locations located at 11845 Allisonville Road in Fishers, IN and 11450 North Meridian Street in Carmel, IN. The job would involve primarily technician responsibilities including taking patient histories, visual acuities, auto-refraction, manifest refraction, tonometry, patient dilation, optical coherence tomography and visual field testing. Training is available for candidates who are not able to perform all of the above tests. At least two years of ophthalmic/optometric technician experience is required. COA/COT certification is preferred but not required.
There would also be some minimal administrative duties including patient scheduling, answering phones, ordering medications, etc. The technician would work directly with Dr. Barrett and rotate through both offices. The work schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 8am to 5pm, and Wednesday from 7:30am to 12:30pm. No nights or weekend work. Salary is very competitive and falls in the range of $25-28/hour depending largely on the quality of the candidate. Year-end bonuses are also available. The offices are busy and the patient volume is high so we are looking for an energetic, resourceful individual capable of taking on responsibility and functioning efficiently.
