Position Description:
The inventory control operator - production (ICO-Production) will manage the flow of the data and inventory through the supply chain. It includes, but is not limited to receiving materials, shipping materials, cycle counting, inventory adjustments and discrepancy resolution. A keen understanding of supply chain
management and inventory control is needed to identify the upstream and downstream impacts related to material movements in Systems, Applications and Products (SAP).
This will include key responsibilities in the areas of:
  • Issue and receive material.
  • Inventory management.
  • Material management.
  • Report issues and solve problems.
  • Continuous improvement.

*This position will offer a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,500.00! *
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
Issue and Receive Material
  • Perform work safely and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
  • Perform tasks within SAP: receiving material, bin movements, issue material to process orders, shipping, etc.
  • Perform tasks physically within warehouse: operate fork truck, floor sweepers and scrubbers, dispense material, load/unload trucks, label material, etc.
  • Prepare paperwork for receipts and shipments: dispensing certificate, bill of lading, material tally sheets, pest inspection form, etc.

Inventory Management
  • Perform cycle counting activities on periodic basis to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure material bins have adequate inventory to meet production requirements.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Return material back to the vender when material does not meet requirements.
  • Assist in the Slow-Moving Inventory process.

Material Management
  • Perform tasks physically within warehouses, receiving, pest inspection on incoming material, sampling, material movements, loading, unloading, railcar movements, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining a clean receiving/dispensing area; comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure material bins have adequate inventory to meet production requirements.

Report Issues and Solve Problems
  • Report issues and events such as injuries/illnesses, deviations, etc.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Assist in performing investigations for issues and events.
  • Initiate trouble tickets for Systems, Applications and Products, (SAP) and work with Center of Excellence (CoE) to resolve issues.

Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in improving safe working conditions by identifying/improving hazards.
  • Assist in improvement of business practices in SAP, the warehouse and inventory management.
  • Assist in SAP script testing.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing/warehousing environment.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal interaction skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferences:
  • Fork truck certification.
  • Teamwork, Coordination, Organization, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Equipment Maintenance, Data Entry Skills, Dependability.
  • MRPII Concepts.
  • Computer Systems, i.e., SAP, eCAPA, GMARS, etc.
  • Previous experience working in GMP environment preferred.

Other Information:
  • Known allergens in area.
  • Tasks may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • This job is fast paced with changing priorities.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • 8hr Monday- Friday
  • Work includes manual labor, including some in the outdoor elements.
  • Rotating shift work and overtime may be required.
  • Successful completing of training requirements related to the job will be required.
  • Completion of Post Offer Exam (POE), Completion of Work Simulation (SIM) or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
  • The amount of Overtime (OT) varies by area (department) and individual role. It is neither consistent nor regular. It will fluctuate between 0% to more than 20% over the calendar year.
