Junior Buyer/Inventory Control Clerk Mro

JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Junior Buyer/Inventory Control Clerk. As a Junior Buyer/Inventory Control Clerk , you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records. The purpose of this job is to purchase and maintain indirect materials (MRO) as it pertains to parts for maintenance equipment spares, operating supplies inventories, and facilitate orders on supplies not stocked, to satisfy the goals and objectives of the company.

EDUCATION/ KNOWLEDGE

The position requires a minimum of a high school education and two years working in inventory management as it relates to MRO items. Example, maintenance parts, janitorial, chemicals, lubricants, safety supplies etc. This includes sourcing, procuring, stocking and inventory of maintenance parts and supplies or a bachelor’s or associate degree and two years of manufacturing experience. Fundamental knowledge of inventory techniques and computer literacy are imperative. Requisite is a general understanding of components and supplies utilized in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical control circuitry, machine shop, and welding applications.

EXPERIENCE

Two to three years working in the Purchasing Department environment with exposure to all aspects of the department responsibilities.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

• Junior Buyer needs to make sure all items needed for production and maintenance are organized and in stock in central crib.
• Junior Buyer initiates purchase orders for production supplies, equipment related parts and supplies for maintenance.
• Junior Buyer receives and distributes orders and compares receipts to items listed on the purchase order.
• Junior Buyer follow-up on past due receipts.
• Junior Buyer works with multiple vendors on lower-level purchases (as assigned) to obtain best overall price as it pertains to cost, service, quality and delivery.
• Junior Buyer assists accounts payable with related questions about pricing, PO’s etc.
• Junior Buyer helps locate suppliers for parts that have not been purchased.
• Junior Buyer review maintenance and production expenditures and identify charges.
• Junior Buyer works with maintenance to develop spares lists for new equipment.
• Junior Buyer organizes parts storage consistent with 5S principles.
• Junior Buyer works on selling obsolete slow-moving inventory out of central stores as directed by management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
