Job description

Position Summary:

Under general supervision from the Branch Manager, performs various duties in receiving, issuing, handling, and accounting for inventory stock at Porter Pipe & Supply Co. Responsibilities consist of auditing and reconciling the physical inventory on the floor to that in the perpetual inventory system.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct daily counts of resale material and related ancillary products.
  • Reconcile inventory variances of resale material and related ancillary products.
  • Report adjustments to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Report damaged and shorted products to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Create reports and analysis of inventory variances for the appropriate supervisors.
  • Identify any weakness in the safeguarding of company assets.
  • Identify any weaknesses in any internal processes.
  • Maintain adequate documentation and records.
  • Perform counts at other PFC locations and outside storage facilities on an as-needed basis.
  • Help alleviate workflow reduction within the returns department as needed.
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Requires the ability to effectively build rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Requires a positive attitude and ability to function independently and in a team setting.
  • Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Must be computer literate in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to communicate in English regarding the position's essential functions.

Required Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience with a Warehouse Management System
  • Two years of prior warehouse experience.
  • Proficiency with RF Handheld devices and operation.
  • Prior forklift experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50 lbs.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
