World Treasures Thrift Shop is a Non-Profit thrift shop, located in downtown Hagerstown, Md. ( We will soon be moving to a larger building that is only a few minutes away from our current location.)
Our goal is to fully support Mennonite Central Committee (our overarching organization) by sharing God's love and compassion for all, in the name of Christ by responding to basic human needs and working for peace and justice. .

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive donations and assist donors in unloading their cars
- Process and price donations including cleaning and tagging items
- Identify high value items and place them aside for further research.
- Put inventory in store in designated areas
- Maintain organization in the receiving/processing area
- Operate cash register and provide service to customers according to high standards
- Perform Open Up procedures
- Perform Store Closing procedures

Qualifications:
- Heart for social justice, peacemaking and global understanding
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Able to work on one’s feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to use stairs
- Comfortable working outside, if necessary
- Ability to work closely with other personnel to ensure positive, constructive environment
- Ability to thrive in a growth- oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with availability to work 2 Saturdays a month.
- Provide direction to multiple volunteer positions
- Supervisory Experience an asset
- Experience working in a retail environment a plus
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
