Role & Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a National Advocacy strategy in support of World Relief advocacy goals
- Manage or create procedures and operational systems to track metrics, relationships and calendars in support of the National Advocacy strategy
- Provide support and coaching to U.S. office staff who have a primary or partial focus on advocacy and public policy issues
- Communicate regularly with World Relief staff on federal policy changes and organizational positional statements,
- Coordinate with Strategic Engagement Division staff to report on grant metrics
- Serve as the Advocacy division’s lead for developing and tracking departmental Objectives and Key Results
- Provide logistical and administrative support for other members of the Advocacy division, including assisting in managing the departmental budget
- Manage project deadlines and project deliverables around key metrics
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to manage the World Relief advocacy website with updated information regarding policy, legislation and new developments
- Assist the VP of Advocacy and Policy in producing regular updates for World Relief staff, board members and other stakeholders on the activities and impacts of the Advocacy division
- Ensure clear communication and coordination between the Advocacy division and all other divisions of World Relief, including but not limited to representing the advocacy team in cross-departmental projects and initiatives
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Minimum of two years of organizational and project management experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility over time
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based interfaces such as SharePoint and project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects
- Must be passionate about seeking just, compassionate policies aligned with World Relief’s longstanding advocacy positions
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief

- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- Experience with political advocacy, community organizing or operations
- Written and spoken fluency in English is required; fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations
- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds.
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.
- The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
- General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
- Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
- Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
