Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• The Operations Manager will oversee the picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, sanitation, and administration functions. They will supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service. The manager will oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
• Ensures the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal.
• The manager will develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, processes, and shipping.
• Trains and manages a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. They will motivate and discipline staff and will have the ability to collaborate with peers on training and support activities.
• Reviews and prepares workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment while monitoring compliance with safety standards and ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
• Manages the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn.
• Determine labor needs to meet production goals.
• Assists with budget preparation for operations unit.
• Assists with or prepares/updates organizations SOP’s for operations unit.
• Oversee the shipping and receiving functions.
• Manage/oversee cycle count program, transactions, and responsible for inventory accuracy metric of 95% or higher.
• Maintains documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities while assisting with deliveries where required, including international shipping logistics and documentation.
• The warehouse manager is detail-oriented and has excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate activities, and meet deadlines.
• The hours required are Monday – Friday during business hours, may include evenings and Saturdays; potentially a second shift in the future.
• Manage all facility requests that includes maintenance, facility requests and the grounds.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience in a warehouse manager or floor lead role.
• Experience working in a multi-sku, high volume, fast-paced environment and experience with cycle counting and inventory management.
• Able to collaborate with all levels of company staff and team leadership experience.
• Ability to lead and motivate others, delegate work, and explain ideas as well as effectively deliver frequent and direct feedback (written and oral).
• Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and email/IM communication.
• Inventory management/cycle counts/audits/physical inventory experience w/high accuracy outcome.
• Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
• Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
• Excellent inventory and cycle count management with successful shrink results.
• Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, WMS systems, SAP preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English, Spanish)
• Advanced degree in Business Management, Engineering or Logistics.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems.
• Working knowledge of ERP and WMS Systems
• Experience with SAP Business One preferred.
• Experience with international shipping logistics and documentation.
• Moderate to light physical activity: standing, moving, and/or walking for more than 8 hours per day.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
