Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will be directly responsible for daily operations, customer satisfaction, account retention, and strong employee relations. The Operations Manager must assure the effective functioning of commercial accounts and provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees. Will also ensure that all managed services are being provided in a proper and cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions:
- General budgets. Stay on a budget (labor hour and wage) and cut labor costs where possible.
- Payroll. Review all payroll sheets for cleaners and waxers at payroll time. Check waxer sheets daily to account for hours worked. Use the vehicle tracker report to verify sites visited.
- Scheduling. Establish a current schedule board for period work scheduled for the next 30 days along with tag work posted.
- Tag work budgets. Complete all tag work within the budget created for the job. Immediate communication if work exceeds the budget.
- Equipment. Update equipment records to account for equipment currently on-hand for use at customer sites, by waxers, and backup in the warehouse.
- Employee turnover. Continually monitor employee turnover to look for trends and identify ways to reduce them. Setup telephone exit interviews to better understand employee reasons for leaving. The Office Administrative Assistant can help with this.
- Warehouse stock. Implement and maintain a warehouse stock area and issue supplies/materials daily as needed. The issue is according to need and not want. Maintain records.
- Customer satisfaction. Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to reduce customer turnover. Accomplish through regular customer visits by Area Managers and Operations Manager. Day visits to access customer satisfaction and at night to check the quality of work.
- Area Manager daily reports. Require daily reports from Area Managers and require all activities to be reported including customer sites visited/inspected, absences experienced for that area, and observations that need to be reported to customers.
- Training. Provide or schedule training for Area Managers, waxers, and production workers appropriate for their position. Also includes safety training sessions provided by Corporate Departments.
