Operations & Logistics Manager

As an established brand in business for over 40 years within the LED lighting and electrical industries, our reputation has been built on offering best-in-class products while providing a unique customer experience. With a growing product line of 1,300 SKUs within a warehouse distribution location of just under 50,000 square feet, our ultimate goal is to take our business to the next level, continue building efficiencies within our organization, and strategically position ourselves for future growth. This position is 100% onsite at our headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.

Responsibilities:

• Work with senior management to improve overall operational efficiency on the corporate level
• Help review and implement software, and automation processes central to overall efficiency
• Work with senior management and warehouse leadership to implement effective solutions that will improve our warehouse operation
• Work with senior management and spearhead the planning of an additional warehouse facility to accommodate future growth
• Ensure our warehouse is operating at maximum productivity with all the resources, equipment, and tools required to run an efficient warehouse operation
• Oversee IT Department and IT related projects
• Analyze warehouse performance metrics and implement strategies to improve operational performance
• Work with our logistics team to identify opportunities to improve inbound and outbound freight processes and procedures
• Negotiate freight contracts for both domestic shipments and international imports
• Aid in facility management and maintenance of the building
• Oversee daily operation of information systems with outside IT consultants, coordinate office repairs and equipment
• Research and recommend improvements to business software applications
• Participate in the execution of complex operations projects as needed

Requirements:

• Degree in business, operations management, or related field
• Minimum of 7 years of proven work experience as an operations manager or similar role
• Thorough understanding of organizational effectiveness and operations management
• Strong technical skills with proven success at implementing or replacing business productivity software programs (ERP, WMS, etc.) across an organization
• Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies and procedure
• Adept at building effective work relationships with people across all levels and functions
• Effective at time-management and adapts quickly to changing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address operational obstacles
• Proven success at budgeting and forecasting to optimize profitability
• Superior communication skills in all formats
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word and Excel)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
