- Manage the entire process of Store Payroll, from setting annual budgets to forecasting payroll hours and rates each month.
- Develop and implement effective workload planning strategies, ensuring all business objectives are met.
- Identify efficiency opportunities ; implement, train on & track opportunities across the store fleet.
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis Teams to track payroll expenses ; react to business and workload trends to maintain targeted store payroll budgets.
- Monitor and control labor costs, ensuring alignment to any budgeting constraints and changes.
- Track store profitability and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring that controllable expenses are managed closely to drive positive EBITDA contributions.
- Partner closely with Field Leadership on store census, flexing headcount based on the needs of the business.
- Deliver staffing recommendations to Field Leaders & stores.
- Manage store scheduling and hiring systems (Dayforce, Workday).
- Ensure store reporting platforms are updated, accurate and easy to digest for all levels of management.
- Deliver periodic ad-hoc reporting as needed, ranging from new store performance reporting to year-over-year comparisons.
- Partner cross functionally with numerous teams, including Compensation, Finance, Human Resources, Communications and New Store Opening Teams.
- Support the broader Store Operations Team and initiatives where needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail, focusing on Store Operations in high volume environments.
- Proven experience in the areas of workforce management and budget tracking.
- Exceptional communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Quick, motivated, and self-directed learner.
- Ability to create strong working relationships with numerous business partners.
- Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Aptitude to excel in a dynamic work environment while handling multiple projects with varying timelines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite & Workforce Management Platforms (Excel, Ceridian, Kronos, Power BI, etc).
- BS in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Expectation of a minimum of three days in the NY office per week.
