Miller's LTC in Fremont is looking to add to their team. This candidate will provide friendly, prompt, and efficient customer service. The Office Specialist duties will include Patient Billing and Accounts Receivable Management. The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing patients with medication and other healthcare products. This hybrid position will be 90% Office Specialist and 10% Pharmacy Technician. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greet patients, customers, and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Handles Long-Term Care facility questions, including resolving insurance issues, over the phone and in person with direction from the pharmacist(s) on duty as needed.
- Perform routine tasks to prepare, dispense, and stock prescribed medication, such as counting tablets, maintaining inventory, retrieving medication, labeling bottles, and packing boxes for shipping.
- Enter data in a computer system such as recording all prescriptions, purchase orders, and stock orders.
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain records such as filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and inform supervisors of stock needs/shortages.
- Other duties as necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- The current State of Nebraska Pharmacy Technician Registration, in good standing along with proof of completion of a board-approved state or national Pharmacy Technician certification program. Or, able to obtain such certification within 12 months of hire.
- Skills in using a computer and various software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing while protecting patient and customer privacy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Should have demonstrated aptitude and precision when working with numbers.
- Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in entering information into a computer accurately to maintain records.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- One or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a licensed pharmacy preferred or experience in a healthcare field.
- One or more years of experience in an office setting, preferably in a pharmacy or physician's office.
- Knowledge of prescriptions, medications, and pharmacy procedures/best practices.
- One or more years experience with patient accounts receivable and billing procedures.
