Job Summary
This position is the primary contact for members of Mankato Area Lifelong Learners. It is the public face for members and those interested in membership. While Lifelong Learners Council is responsible for long range direction and programs of the organization, this position is responsible for its coordination.
Communication is centralized to this position. This includes responding to all incoming emails, telephone inquiries, and website communications from members, the public, committees, and Council. Outgoing communications such as event reminders, membership expirations, quarterly publications of our newsletter and other information must be completed accurately and delivered in a timely manner. The website and online registrations are kept current and accurate.
Record keeping includes maintaining an accurate membership database, detailed event registration and attendance records for all activities, organizational documents, and financial activity documentation as directed by Council. Financial activities include the collection of member dues, event fees, donations, processing disbursements, and working closely with the Council Treasurer, MSU business services staff, and Foundation Staff. Relevant and timely financial and activity reports are prepared as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media
Ability to solve problems, organize workflow, and work with limited direction.
Must possess good human relations skills relevant to clientele age group
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Additional Requirements
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
