Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Acknowledge and greet staff and visitors courteously, including by opening doors and assisting visitors, as needed;
Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor;
Manage access to the Press Credentials Unit office;
Monitor all staff and visitors entering and leaving the Press Credentials Unit office and require visitors to sign in;
Manage the reception area;
Provide administrative and clerical support by answering telephone inquiries, data entry, light filing, and receiving and sorting mail, including packages;
Intervene and calmly and efficiently diffuse situations as needed;
Conduct periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits; mechanical problems and unauthorized persons;
Write and maintain incident reports;
Assist with emergencies, as needed;
Coordinate with building security and other staff, as needed;
Perform special initiatives and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field;
Experience working in an office environment in a support staff role;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Experience in interacting with individuals of diverse backgrounds;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently;
Ability to maintain respectful and professional demeanor;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other computer programs;
Foreign language proficiency a plus.
