About the position:
As our Office Manager, you'll be the mastermind behind the scenes: You'll manage everything from the smooth day-to-day operations of our three buildings in Berkeley, to acting as a liaison with our global facilities, to third-party service contracts, all while fostering a positive and productive work environment. As the Office Manager, you are responsible for .
  • Keep our offices looking sharp, ensuring they reflect our professional image and adventure-ready spirit.
  • Develop and implement clear policies that keep our offices clean, organized, and in tip-top shape.
  • Manage building security via front door access, distributing keys and building access cards
  • Negotiate third party facilities service contracts and assure the highest level of service quality and cost effectiveness
  • Partner with our IT and Operations teams to coordinate office moves and projects.
  • Collaborate with our global facilities team to implement standard systems across all Backroads hubs (Utah, Canada, Europe).
  • Manage general office operations, including events and staff perks like the Bike Loan Program and Onsite Yoga.
  • Represent Backroads to external vendors and the City of Berkeley.
  • Oversee our Facilities Assistant and provide backup support to the Executive Assistant.
  • Maintain office supply inventory and manage mail and shipping that happens out of Berkeley

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written/ verbal communication
  • A keen eye for improving processes
  • Microsoft office suite: outlook, word, excel
  • Friendly and helpful personality
  • Enthusiastic about Backroads mission and have a passion for active travel

Salary Ranges:
$68,000.00 - $90,000.00
Our office roles are onsite in our Berkeley headquarters, unless specifically noted as 'available for remote'. We do allow one work-from-home day a week, as well as one work-from-anywhere week per year. This pay range is intended for in-person work in our Berkeley, CA headquarters. Pay ranges for remote-eligible roles will be subject to adjustment based on the geolocation of the employee.
