MHC is a national leader in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treatments. We are looking for a bright, motivated individual with a desire to make a difference in patients' lives to join our team of dedicated medical professionals.
The primary function of the Office Coordinator is to ensure the smooth transition for the patients as they enter and exit the Hyperbaric Center through duties that include phone reception, managing patient information, handling front office duties, completing clerical tasks, scheduling/confirming appointments, ordering supplies and other various administrative duties.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule patients for history and physicals, follow-up exams, and hyperbaric medicine oxygen treatments ("HBOT") in MHC electronic health record
- Obtain all required medical record documentation from referring providers, for patients referred to the center.
- Obtain all required health plan insurance information from patients who have been referred to the center.
- Obtain prior authorization from health plans for patients who require prior authorization, prior to the start of HBOT.
- Enter all required administrative information in MHC electronic health record, to ensure accurate record keeping, and successful billing of HBOT services.
- Order center supplies.
- Support the communications with referring providers, regarding status of their referred patients, as directed by the Medical Director.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients referred to the center, and their accompanying family members and/or caregivers.
- Coordinate transportation services for patients, when indicated.
- Maintain professional relationship with center staff.
- Maintain professional relationship with MHC administration and staff.
- Works collaboratively with center providers and Medical Director, to ensure daily administrative and clinical operations are provided in compliance with industry standard guidelines, and MHC guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with MHC quality assurance programs.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Typical hours are approximately 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. There will be times when flexibility will be needed.
The ideal candidate will have most or all of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and an ability to problem-solve and overcome barriers.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage many different tasks throughout the day.
- Enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, experience with electronic health records a plus.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be credentialed per Mobile Hyperbaric Centers’ policies and procedures.
- Must successfully complete post offer, pre-employment background check/drug test
Salary:
Salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. MHC also offers an excellent benefits package to all full-time employees.
