THE POSITION

The City of Ventura Human Resources Department is hiring a part-time extra help Office Assistant. This is a temporary position that will work 30 to 40 hours per week for approximately five months, depending on the department's needs.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This Office Assistant will primarily assist with special projects within the four HR divisions. In addition, this position will answer telephones, relay messages, and greet visitors. The Office Assistant will assist with opening and distributing mail, performing routine filing and record keeping, operating office equipment including personal computers, copy machines, FAX, scanners, etc., providing information and directions to other City locations, keeping simple related records, and performing other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO QUALIFY
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by additional clerical and computer coursework, keyboarding abilities sufficient to perform the job, and six-months of clerical experience are required.
