Position Summary:
Gulf Shores Landfill is actively recruiting an experienced and safety-oriented individual with an excellent work ethic to fill the position for office support, spotter/inspections and parts pick up position. This position is responsible for performing duties in support of landfill operations.
This position requires someone with considerable knowledge in the skilled operation of office administration, spotting customer vehicles, inspection of working area, waste disposal inspection and being available for picking up parts from vendors as needed.
Essential Functions:

Office Assistance
· Greet customers in a friendly and positive manner.
· Determine acceptability of waste according to the state guidelines and facility policy.
· Complete customer ticket and collect payment. Direct them to the disposal site.
· Document ticket on log sheet and enter in Quickbooks.
· Answer incoming calls and assist emails accordingly.
· File paper work as needed.
· Balance and process daily close out reports.
Spotter/Inspections
· Safely work in conjunction around heavy equipment and large trucks.
· Implement communication with customers and other co-workers.
· Perform site maintenance within disposal area or other areas as assigned.
· Safely direct customers into the disposal area.
· Perform visual inspection of incoming loads and manage prohibited waste from being disposed.
· Enforce safety and policy procedures at all times.
Parts Pick-Up
· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
· Efficiently plan a pick-up route.
· Follow all local and state traffic laws in travel.
· Load company vehicle with the parts that have been signed for.
· Able to travel in Baldwin and Mobile County, AL and Pensacola, FL.
Additional Requirements
· Follow company policy for PPE requirements.
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
· Punctuality and dependability are required.
· Must be observant and alert at all times in the working environment.
· Have the ability to communicate in writing, orally and signaling.
· The ability to perform physical requirements of the position such as: sitting, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, gripping and lifting up to 20 pounds.
· Must be able to work in variable weather conditions that include exposure to high or low temperatures and dry or wet conditions. Dirt, dust and fumes may be present in the field.
· Ability to adhere to a full-time schedule with some flexibility. Some overtime may be required.
· Able to establish a positive working relationship with the general public and other co-workers.
· Maintain a professional attitude, conduct and appearance.
· Perform other job duties that may be assigned that benefit the facility.
· High school diploma or GED

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
