HOURS PER WEEK: 20
COMPENSATION: $16/hour, plus vacation/holiday/sick leave
ABOUT GLEN HELEN ASSOCIATION:
Glen Helen is a small, nonprofit organization that stewards the land of our 1,200 acre nature preserve and offers life-shaping environmental learning to our students and visitors. We have an Outdoor Education Center, which hosts our naturalist training program, as well as a Raptor Center with resident raptors and a rehabilitation program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A part-time, permanent position assisting the Executive Director and supporting the Glen Helen Association administrative team. Office administrator I & II work closely to meet the administrative needs of Glen Helen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting the administrative offices of the Glen Helen Association, including:
- Providing administrative assistance to the Executive Director
- Providing technology support to staff including sourcing computers and equipment, updating phones and emails, and assessing software
- Managing temporary and on-going projects to streamline administrative processes
- Supporting mailing and membership communications and responding to public inquiries
- Assisting in establishing and/or updating policies and procedures
- Supporting the Glen Helen finance team, including:
- Assisting with financial matters, such as cost controls, contracts, and accounts payable and receivable, contributions, pledges, sales revenue tracking, audit preparations, grant management, and etc., as needed
- Maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and printed records
- Providing overall assistance to the management team
- Additional responsibilities, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Administrative, accounting and/or office experience
- Competence in office computing, including Microsoft Office suite, FileMaker Pro, QuickBooks
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to effectively accomplish the responsibilities above with the highest professional standards
- Must be capable of working and communicating effectively with co-workers, volunteers, and the public
- Interest in, understanding of, and commitment to Glen Helen's mission
- Availability to work 1-2 weekend days/month a plus
PHYSICAL ABILITIES & ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Ability to work in an office environment
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- BCI/FBI background check required
