Assists in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit. May perform direct and indirect patient care including vitals, hygiene measures, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum and newborn patients. Assists with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice. Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures. Maintains supplies and equipment on the unit. Assists with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment. Performs clerical and business support tasks as assigned. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

 

Day to Day Duties:

• Scrub for C- Sections, D&C's.
• Set up and take down instruments for vaginal deliveries.
• Cleaning, stocking, and preparation of patient rooms.
• Stocking of equipment and supplies.
• Assisting RNs as required. 
• Additional secretarial duties per needs of unit. Answering phones, door, computer entry in EPIC Software program.

1 OR Suite (Separate from Main OR)

40 Births per month

 

Schedule: Schedule: 36hr/ week- Nights- 3x12 shifts -Variable shifts per needs of unit

Qualifications

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• One-year patient care experience preferred, i.e. OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA,
• Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience
• Experience in a specialty field preferred
• Basic Computer skills required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program preferred
• Current registration as a Surgical Tech is required unless performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another verified Colorado license, certification or registration required
• Call required: 2 Shifts per 6 week schedule
• Must be within 30 minute radius of facility for Call Requirements

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Obstetrics/Post-Partum department at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center has eight beds, labor, delivery, post-partum, Level I nursery, and one OR, seeing about 35 deliveries a month. On a rare occasion we treat GYN patients. Our mission is to provide compassionate care to all as we would a family member. We work in a team-oriented environment in the highest altitude birth center in North America. Our co- workers are also our friends, and there is time to spend with patients providing thorough education and excellent care. We use a self-scheduling model to provide a strong work-life balance to be able to spend time doing the year-round outdoor activities that Summit County offers. Pay Range

$23.23 - $39.45 / hour
