Title:Building and Grounds Associate - Team Leader

Grade Level: Hourly
Pay Range: $18.00 per hour
Reports To: Full-Time Management / Supervision
Schedule: Four to five days a week; must work weekends and all holidays.
Hours: Vary, depending on weather and guest attendance. Hourly scheduling is subject to change depending on the needs of the Aquarium and management.
Position Summary
The Team Leader helps guide the associate in maintaining the New York Aquarium by performing a number of tasks as part of a crew or alone.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Helps lead a team in maintaining the cleanliness of the Aquarium exhibits, buildings and Grounds in all areas (Window, Garbage, etc.)
• Helps Supervision with the delegation and oversite of work assignments
• Responsible for checking equipment and supplies and reporting those that need repair or to be ordered to Supervision
• Responsible for working with and leading a crew in the daily upkeep of the stands of the Aqua Theater
• Responsible for working with and leading a crew to seat the public during Aqua Theater shows and working in the stands throughout demonstrations
• Responsible to report destroyed equipment or any vandalism to exhibits.
• Completing other related assignments and assisting others on the team as required
• Responsible for working with and leading a crew with the setups and break downs of all Aquarium events.
• Responsible for working with and leading a crew to maintain comfort stations
• Providing excellent service to guests, including maintaining general knowledge of park attractions and amenities, answering questions and finding ways to create a great guest experience, in accordance with WCS standards of guest service.
Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
• Must possess leadership skills and an eye for detail
• Ability to assign tasks and follow up to ensure completion
• Ability to remain outdoors for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to frequently move objectives up to 50 pounds.
• Prior experience using ground tool's preferred
• Driver's License preferred
• Knowledge of window cleaning a plus • Reliable and Dependable • Must work Weekends and Holidays
