To make an impact as an NP at UF Health Shands, you will:
Coordinate continuity of patient care patient care for heart/lung/heart-lung transplant patients and contribute to the daily care decisions.
Make frequent bedside visits to assess the status of patients, identify alterations in patient health and assess patient response to treatment.
Implement nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols and anticipate potential outcomes for those at risk for complications.
Write orders, interact with consultants and coordinate scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures.
To achieve excellence in this full-time role, we’re looking for:
A current and clear license as an advanced practice registered nurse in Florida.
A master's degree in advanced nursing practice.
A minimum of three years of experience in nursing, preferably with experience in critical care, transplantation or acute care experience with the relevant patient population (i.e., heart, liver, VAD, lung, kidney).
Must be knowledgeable in transplant immunology, technical aspects of surgery, interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory data, and clinical management of patients.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Schedule: Full-time
Shift: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday
