Responsibilities

Working with our Revenue Audit Manager and our Accounting/Finance team, the Specialist of Non-Gaming Revenue assists in the daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting of assets, liabilities, capital, revenue, and expenses. Provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing journal entries and various accounting-related tasks as assigned. Applies principles of accounting under the guidelines of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and in compliance with all regulations in all procedures. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Mirage policies, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepares and completes the daily audits (as assigned) in a timely manner
  • Monitor compliance of revenue activities on the property via the exception process to ensure that all relative documentation is completed in compliance with all applicable policies and laws, including MICS and SOX.
  • Ensure procedural policies for audits, research variances, and make corrections or revisions as needed.
  • Complete journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts and produce various revenue reports and statistical analysis.
  • Complete financial spreadsheets and updates information on a regular basis.
  • Actively supports, dynamically promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all department and company matters.
  • Performs other job related duties as requested.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Having 1 year of accounting/data reconciliation/Revenue Audit experience in a business is preferred.
  • Have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with all levels of management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for duration of shift.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists
  • Ability to occasionally move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment
  • May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.
