WHAT YOULL DO
The Revenue Audit Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions for revenue and complimentary audits; reporting and reconciling revenue and related balance sheet accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures; ensuring accuracy of daily gaming and non-gaming revenues that are recorded in gaming and non-gaming systems; recording journal entries and preparing taxes.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.
- Prepare journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
- Review daily revenue and comp journal entries for accuracy prior to posting.
- Ensure timely and accurate month end closing of the general ledger.
- Reconcile gaming and non-gaming cash handling operations, including over/short investigations.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheets account in a timely manner.
- Work with General Ledger Accountants to respond to revenue related inquiries from operations.
- Prepare and file state and county tax returns including gaming taxes, entertainment tax, sales tax and room tax.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all revenue reporting.

- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word, PowerPoint a plus)
- Excellent reading, writing, and math skills.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
- Must possess strong time management skills, attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience in reconciling balance sheet accounts and creating reports with minimum supervision.
- A high level of interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to complete job duties during assigned shifts and meet all department deadlines.
- 2-3 years of Finance or Accounting experience.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Associate degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
- Prior experience with Workday Software.
- Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
- A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time with frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
- Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
- Close spaces while working with others.
