Work Environment: NGL offers a flexible work environment where employees can work fully remote, hybrid or onsite at our Madison, Wis. office. We support virtual working arrangements in certain states outside of WI.
A Day in the Life:
The New Business Specialist primarily processes life insurance and annuity applications. Additional responsibilities include effectively review, process, audit and issue life insurance and annuity applications based on state and company requirements and guidelines. New Business Specialists are accountable for accuracy standards, auditing and turnaround standards based on product type. In this role, work is performed under general supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accurately process routine and moderately complex life insurance and annuity applications.
- Process the majority of life insurance and annuity applications using various administration systems.
- Maintain the privacy of customers and protect sensitive data.
- Review, manage and resolve pending policies to completion.
- Assist in resolving complex or unusual cases.
- Review unclear requests and system errors and escalate appropriately.
- Document the steps taken to solve the issue.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Recommend improvements to processes and procedures.
- Assist in implementing process improvements.
- Accurately audit newly issued policies against the application and contract pages.
- Help ensure team standards and goals are maintained.
- Process applications in the workflow queues and other work according to team standards.
- Assist team members to meet turnaround expectations.
- Actively participate in team meetings and team building activities.
- Assist in resolving errors by reviewing and escalating appropriately when needed.
- Perform other related work as requested or required.
Schedule: This is full-time hourly position with a schedule of 8:30am-5:00pm CST, Monday - Friday.
Essential to Your Success:
- Organized, analytical and detailed oriented
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adjust schedules as needed in order to meet turnaround standards
- Intermediate communication skills, both written and verbal
- Motivated "self-starter" with a commitment of personal growth
- General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office
- Ability to maintain customer confidence through confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be able to work within a team environment
- Typing speed of 40 word per minute
Education Requirements:
- Minimum: High School or GED
- Preferred: Other
- Level 1 LOMA Certificate
Years of Experience:
- A minimum of one year of office experience preferred.
- A minimum of one year of data entry or insurance administration experience preferred.
