Job Description
- Assist in the designing, engineering, testing, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing LAN and WAN networks.
- Identify process inefficiencies and develop new policies and procedures if necessary.
- Assist in the design and engineering of VOIP Communications Systems including Radio and Contact Center solutions.
- Active member of a team that is responsible for the design and ongoing reporting of metrics associated with network systems.
- Responsible for maintenance and creation of documentation as it relates to project installs.
- Effectively troubleshoot complex issues involving Cisco routers, VPNs, switches, firewalls, and communication systems.
- Operate and maintain the VPN infrastructure in use throughout the CNDC.
- Create, implement, and distribute policies and procedures for the Wide Area Network.
- Assess bandwidth requirements to ensure network capacity and processing speed.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures as it relates to the project, to ensure equipment has latest authorized releases, patches, and/or fixes applied to meet requirements.
- Configure, operate, and maintain network related applications including various Cisco Management Applications.
- Interact and coordinate with other organizations within CNDC both on an informational and technical level.
- Create, update and process service tickets related to the projects.
- Ability to follow predefined procedures and processes to execute standard daily administration for tribal network infrastructure.
- Must be able to take direction from the senior engineering and management staff to execute the mission of the department.
- Strong understanding of Cisco IOS and routing protocols.
- Must be willing to work as part of a team and have good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Must be able to understand and interpret technical language and transform into laymen’s terms for the customer to understand.
- Must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24-hour day/7-day week coverage.
- Must have In-depth knowledge in internet, computer, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, a strong customer service mentality, and demonstrated organizational and skills are a must.
- Network facilitation and change management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to administer a multi-node network including firewalls.
- One or more CCDA, CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, or, CCVP certifications required.
- CCIE Service Provider, CCIE, CCIE Routing and Switching, CCIE SP Operations, CSE, LPIC-3 Senior, RHCA certifications preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check and receive a gaming license from the organization’s Gaming Commission as required to work in gaming operations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result.
