Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
- Implementing disaster recovery procedures
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
- Provide Tier II/III support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- 5-7 years' experience in network maintenance and support planning, organizing, and documenting complex system design activities; configuring systems to be consistent with institutional policies and procedures.
- 5 years Sonic Wall Firewalls
- 5 Years Fortinet firewalls
- 5 Years Cisco Switches
- 5 years Cisco routers
- Expert knowledge of IPSEC VPN tunnels
- CCNA or CCNP certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Minimal travel anticipated; may consist of auto and air travel.
