Job Description
As a Network and Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in providing IT support in an automation environment. You will be responsible for supporting automation systems (PLC, DSC, HMI), managing network infrastructure, and ensuring efficient asset inventory and management. This position requires expertise in Cisco switches and firewalls, as well as experience with embedded firmware.
Overview of Role
- Provide IT support in an automation environment, ensuring the smooth operation of industrial facilities.
- Support and maintain automation systems, including PLCs, DSCs, and HMIs.
- Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including Cisco switches and firewalls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve Network and Automation issues.
- Implement and maintain embedded firmware for automation devices.
- Develop and execute Network and Automation strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct regular asset inventory and management to ensure proper tracking and maintenance.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in Network and Automation technologies.
- Document Network and Automation configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MIS, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred
- Minimum 7+ years relevant industrial experience in Network and Automation Engineering system maintenance .
- Proficiency in Cisco switches and firewalls.
- Experience with embedded firmware development and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, DSCs, and HMIs.
- Familiarity with asset inventory and management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and adapt to changing conditions.
- Ability to travel up 25% of the time to customer sites
