Position Title: National Machinery Sales Representative
Job Summary: The National Machinery Sales Representative will cover multiple territories within the United States. This individual will be responsible for selling primary and end of line rigid and flexible packaging machinery. The ideal candidate for this role will have the ability to manage, organize, and facilitate sales activities in these regions.
- This position requires substantial national travel and occasional international travel.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on potential sales and other trade factors.
- Attend various trade manufacturing functions to secure leads and contacts.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Proactively gain product knowledge and learn the manufacturing process of products.
- Provide historical data by maintaining records on area and customer sales/calls.
- Provide backup for other sales representatives as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; communicate with other employees and departments to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to:
- Work longer hours than the typical 8 hours workday when necessary.

- Demonstrate good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, and various other machines.
- Communicate with others both verbally and written.
- Must be willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally.
- Tolerate a moderate stress level.
Education & Related Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or marketing and/or extensive prior sales management experience (preferred).
- Prior experience in the machinery/packaging industry in addition to knowledge of food and medical/wellness product packaging is preferred.
