Reporting to the Vice President of Sales the National Account Manager will play a pivotal role in prospecting for and managing key National Accounts. This position requires a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record of success in sales. The ideal candidate will be adept at building and nurturing relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and exceeding sales targets. The National Account Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key National Accounts.
- Understand each account's business objectives, challenges, and needs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication with assigned accounts.
- Regularly assess account performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Sales Strategy:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product development, operations) to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and new markets.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with National Accounts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Review and analyze contract terms to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
Forecasting and Reporting:
- Forecast sales volumes and revenue for assigned accounts on a regular basis.
- Prepare and present sales reports, performance metrics, and analysis to senior management.
- Monitor sales KPIs and take proactive measures to address any deviations from targets.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service and support.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
- Proactively seek feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development, with a focus on national or key accounts.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence decision-makers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform sales strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
