Position Summary
Remotely based, the National Account Manager-Drug is responsible for developing the overall Drug business while also supporting the Director of Drug whose responsibilities are for developing the overall business of Walgreens, CVS and Rite-Aid. The National Account Manager will be the strategic sales leader, accountable for setting and driving the energy brand plan with the customer and will successfully collaborate with the customer, the Coca-Cola bottler network and internally will work cross-functionally across all departments to achieve desired sales and share growth.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to develop and sell in profitable and strategic business plans to a major customer that aligns with corporate and brand plans
  • Lead Joint Business Planning process with both the MEC Team and customer that includes strategic planning
  • Develop plans to drive organic growth and innovation that will drive sales and share growth
  • Collaborate with bottling partners to execute National and Regional Plans involving distribution, program execution, void closure, new-item distribution, pricing, in-stock improvement, and other key initiatives
  • Track, review, and measure all relevant data to assess specific retailer and channel business to convert insights/data into sales solutions, and achieve results
  • Demonstrates a passion for understanding best practices, trends and technology affecting the business, our industry and the general marketplace
  • Demonstrates an understanding of issues relevant to the broader MEC organization
  • Manage communication on promotions and execution opportunities with the customer
  • Maintain customer focus to proactively identify opportunities to improve service to the customer, quickly and effectively respond to customer problems, partner with other functions/departments to meet customer needs
  • Understand and anticipate how business plans and actions will impact both MEC and the customer
  • Take action to proactively resolve issues and identify areas for improvement
  • Make sound trade-offs of time, effort and resources to effectively manage multiple demands
  • Summarize and disseminate information in a timely manner with appropriate frequency
  • Ensure information reaches all parties who require it to avoid unnecessary surprises
  • Provide timely, constructive and actionable feedback to CDM team to coach others to improve performance
  • Model exemplary behavior and seek out opportunities to share information, suggestions and advice
  • Demonstrate ability to synthesize data to accurately assess situations and find actionable solutions
  • Understand the long-term business and financial implications of decisions that are made
  • Manage the Chain Funding Planner to accurately track and accrue for expenses
  • Conduct regular meetings with the customer buyer(s) and/or support team
  • Work to create and design customer POG’s as Energy Category Captain and analyze category performance
  • Analyze and report weekly performance to internal and external teams based on information developed and provided by the Category Management team, chain & store specific related performance or pulled directly from RSi (store-level data)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Drug chain customer field operations personnel to ensure execution of agreed upon Monster & customer objectives
  • Understand and monitor budget controls on an ongoing basis such as case spends & travel expenses

Position Requirements:

  • Eight to ten years of sales experience in beverage and/or retail in broker/distributor/bottler sales
  • Preferable to have some experience with CPG Account Management and/or Drug channel
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business, Marketing or Finance
  • Demonstrated track record of sales achievement in the beverage industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with customers; ability to collaborate at all levels
  • Proficient in time management, balancing priorities, and managing expenses
  • Need to be a self-starter and able to work independently while also being a team player and collaborator
  • Ability to represent the company in an exemplary and professional manner
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience with forecasting, Nielsen/IRI, POS and Inventory reports
  • Willing to travel as necessary

Pay Range : $88,500 - 118,000
