Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with existing customer accounts to increase customer loyalty through frequent business meetings, needs assessment, comprehensive demand generation and relationship building.
- Work in a team environment and prioritize the needs of the customer and organization.
- Communicate with customers and team on order status, price changes and product discrepancies.
- Meet with clients to drive customer success and market share of GDM Seeds.
- Understand accounts structure across business and product teams while staying aware of industry trends and changes.
- Draft strategic agreements, sale, and purchase contracts for respective parties.
- Act as a liaison for customers with operations and purchasing.
- Coordinate with production to ensure orders are fulfilled in an efficient manner.
- Recognize new opportunities within each account.
- Develop reports and presentations describing the performance of the company and their accounts.
- Provide educational training to accounts through seminars and trade events.
- Investigate new sales opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to present in front of both small and large groups.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Willing to spend 75% of the year traveling across country.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy, agriculture business or related area.
- At least seven years of sales experience in the ag industry, or closely related field.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
