Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain productive and professional relationships with existing customer accounts to increase customer loyalty through frequent business meetings, needs assessment, comprehensive demand generation and relationship building.
  • Work in a team environment and prioritize the needs of the customer and organization.
  • Communicate with customers and team on order status, price changes and product discrepancies.
  • Meet with clients to drive customer success and market share of GDM Seeds.
  • Understand accounts structure across business and product teams while staying aware of industry trends and changes.
  • Draft strategic agreements, sale, and purchase contracts for respective parties.
  • Act as a liaison for customers with operations and purchasing.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure orders are fulfilled in an efficient manner.
  • Recognize new opportunities within each account.
  • Develop reports and presentations describing the performance of the company and their accounts.
  • Provide educational training to accounts through seminars and trade events.
  • Investigate new sales opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to present in front of both small and large groups.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Willing to spend 75% of the year traveling across country.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, agriculture business or related area.
  • At least seven years of sales experience in the ag industry, or closely related field.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
