The General Liability / Auto Claim Adjuster is responsible for the investigation and adjustment of assigned multi-line liability claims. This position may serve as an advanced training position for future promotions.  Accountable for the quality of claim services as perceived by CCMSI clients and within our corporate claim standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with General Liability, auto liability with property damage and/or bodily injury is beneficial.
  • This desk handles regional claims, mostly in the midwest.  TX and/or FL licenses preferred. 
  • Litigation handling experience is preferred.
  • Investigate and adjust multi-line liability claims following established claims handling procedures and CCMSI guidelines.
  • Review medical, legal, and miscellaneous invoices for reasonableness and relevance to ongoing liability claims. Negotiate disputed bills for resolution.
  • Authorize and make payments of multi-line liability claims using a claim payment program within industry standards and settlement authority.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys in accordance with client's authorization.
  • Assist in the selection and supervision of defense attorneys.
  • Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
  • Prepare reports detailing claims, payments, and reserves.
  • Provide reports and monitor files, as required by excess insurers.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Commitments established by the team.
  • Deliver quality claim service to clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Discretion and confidentiality are required.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours.
  • Responsive to internal and external client needs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and/or in writing both internally and externally.

 

Education and/or Experience    

3+ years of liability claim experience or insurance-related experience is preferred.

 

Computer Skills            

Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

TX Adjusters license is preferred
