Mow Senior Dining Club Site Manager (Part-Time)

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Responsible for overseeing and supervising the St. Cloud congregate (Dining Club) meal site including making decisions regarding food service and site cleanliness. This position requires the ability to work with considerable independence within the established rules, regulations, and procedures. Also, must be able to supervise volunteer staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Handle congregate (Dining Club) meal reservations. And prepare meal site for site activities.

2) Order meals, commodities and supplies with applicable Dietary staff member and prepare all required reports in a timely manner.

3) Recruit, train and supervise volunteers and site aides.

4) Conduct monthly site meetings with Advisory committee.

5) Assist in the recruitment and retention of clients and make necessary referrals for services, along with assisting client issues or emergencies.

6) Coordinate activities, events and fundraising opportunities for dining site and assist in planning of the monthly calendar to initiate any recreation or education programs.

7) Attend all training sessions and meetings as scheduled.

8) Follow all policies and procedures of the Osceola Council on Aging.

9) Other responsibilities as assigned by the Nutrition Director.

OTHER RELATED FUNCTIONS:

HOURS OF WORK: Part-time, non-exempt, up to 30 hours weekly. flex-time with supervisor’s advance approval. May require some evening or weekend hours for special projects. Employee must be able to work off-site at any of the locations in the Planning and Service Area.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED. Must be well organized and prompt. Ability to read & write, carry out written & verbal instructions & complete required reports.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Florida State Drivers License & Insurance; satisfactory 3 year look-back on driving record.

Experience: Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary. Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced, complex, changing environment. Must be experienced in working with volunteers and older persons with a minimum of 2-years administrative assistant experience. Must have knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheets and data base applications. Must be able to effectively organize and maintain accurate records.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, board, donors, volunteers and the public. Ability to function in a team setting and ability to supervise stipend volunteers. Enthusiasm, teamwork, focused and strong customer service orientation. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of groups and individuals.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Sufficient skills to be able to read and write effectively. Careful attention to detail and organization.

Essential Mental Abilities: Knowledgeable and competent to perform all essential functions. Ability to integrate and synchronize diversified functions between volunteers and staff. Ability to prioritize and manage competing requests.

Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions.

Essential Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Sufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility and the community, have corrected vision and hearing to the normal range. This position may require occasional bending and lifting subject to specific physical requirements and working conditions as listed in job duties.
