Job Description
Position Summary
Responsible for providing technical support to Midstream Operations by developing engineered solutions to meet operational, maintenance, regulatory, and other requirements. Analyze and recommend process and procedural improvements by applying engineering theories and practices that ensure safe, compliant, efficient, reliable, and economical operations. Coordinate with a cross-functional team, including Midstream Operations, production operations, maintenance, facility engineering, construction, planning, marketing, supply chain, regulatory, air quality, and other teams throughout the organization.
NOTE: Position will be filled at a level commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Target Responsibilities
- Provide field engineering support for operations and maintenance of all midstream assets.
- Perform engineering and hydraulic modeling calculations to optimize facility and pipeline performance, gain efficiencies, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.
- Assist with system planning and production forecasting to ensure adequate infrastructure exists for anticipated throughput. Oversee modifications/upgrades, as required.
- Support the development and review of engineering and operating standards, procedures, and design tools.
- Review and approve an array of project design documents including equipment specification sheets, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, plot plans and equipment layouts.
- Serve as a technical resource on complex engineering problems.
- Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes, develop process improvements, and incorporate changes.
- Contribute to P&ID and PFD design reviews, management of change, pre-startup safety reviews, air quality permit requirements, PSM and Mechanical Integrity program development, and OSHA required audits.
- Determine serviceability of midstream assets based on NDE findings to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain/update process safety information for all midstream facilities.
- Review and implement changes proposed by the Green Ventures and New Technology teams.
- Oversee small-scale facility upgrades from a project management/engineering perspective.
- Commission new equipment/pipelines – including lock-out tag-out planning and implementation, depressurization of systems, purge and pack equipment, return to service, etc.
- Develop strategies to lower methane intensity and lower emissions.
Minimum Requirements
- B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, or equivalent field/technical experience required.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills required.
- Ability to process information quickly and perform effectively in a high-paced, multitask environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of compression, dehydration, condensate stabilization, gas measurement, and liquid measurement.
- Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
- Strong planning, organizing and project management skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to drive safely off-road in adverse conditions.
- May require travel & short-term assignment to other operating areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Field Midstream Operations experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Experience with ProMax, Synergi Gas, Ariel Compressor, AutoCAD, Piper, MISTRAS PCMS.
- Familiarity with DOT pipeline requirements, Process Safety Management, and Mechanical Integrity.
