Microgreens Production Assistant – Full-Time

Gilbertie's Herb Gardens – Easton, CT

Herb and Vegetable Farm in Easton, Connecticut is looking to fill a full-time position in our Microgreens production operation.

The work consists of reviewing wholesale customer orders, calculating product amounts for harvest, filling wholesale orders, and accomplishing other tasks as needed.

The duties are expected to include preparing order forms and invoices, harvesting and packing microgreens and other plant products, labeling packages, and accomplishing other tasks that require computer skills, including some familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks.

Candidates must be able to lift at least 30 lbs. with ease, to stand and walk for long periods of time, and to bend, twist, and move without restriction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follow instructions from General Manager and/or Team Leader.
• Review customer orders and prepare order list.
• Identify different plants as per order list.
• Pick best quality plants.
• Transport plants and plant products from greenhouse to production areas.
• Pack and properly label plants, plant products, and packaging.
• Meet certified organic standards and assist with record-keeping and other tasks related to maintaining organic certification.
• Maintain quality control of plants and plant products.
• Assist with ordering of supplies.
• Maintain records of products, supplies, and other items, as directed.
• Load plants, plant products, and packaging into storage areas and/or onto vehicles.
• Do other tasks as directed.

This is expected to be a full-time position.

7:00 am – 3:30 pm or later, as needed, especially during busy times of the year.
