The Quinnipiac Productions team within the Office of Marketing and Communications at Quinnipiac University is seeking dynamic, creative, and ambitious candidates for the Assistant Director of Film/Video, Quinnipiac Productions role. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of creative and engaging video projects through skills such as filming, editing, and motion graphics creation, etc. Working closely with other members of the team, you will help support the media production initiatives for the various schools and departments across the university.
- Act as one of the lead videographers and editors of production team, executing on the strategic vision
- Manage and oversee the production and post-production of assigned video content types to ensure they meet standards and deadlines
- Oversee and Maintain the University video asset management system
- Lead motion graphic needs for web videos and television/broadcast
- Ensure quality control and feedback on completion of assigned content types
- Mentor, teach and lead student Production Assistants along with assisting technical trainings for the team
- Work with Director to ensure that all assigned work is creatively superlative, accurate and true to the larger tonality of the Brand
- Provide recommendations on latest production, streaming, and emerging technologies
- Bring fresh, innovative design and production ideas to the department; keep abreast of the latest production styles and techniques
- Act as a point person for set up and filming of all academic recordings.
- Support Associate Director to optimize maintenance and operation of technical equipment, including studio (i.e. cameras, lights, microphones, etc.)
- Assist with writing scripts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree required; Communications, TV/Film Production, or related field of study preferred
- 5+ years of experience in TV/Film Production environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Creative and ambitious
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite- Expertise in Premiere, Photoshop, and AfterEffects
- Capable of handling various responsibilities and multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with hard deadlines
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Ability to lift and move objects and equipment up to 50lbs
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
