Seeking enthusiastic, experienced applicant to join our team in small but busy allergy office in Northern RI. Must be hard working, well organized with good interpersonal skills. Will be working directly with patients with front desk responsibilities when the office is open for patient visits on Tuesdays 9:00-7 and Wednesdays 7:30-5. Additional hours related to billing and administrative matters for another 8-12 hours/week could be done in part from home. Experience with computer scheduling and billing systems, especially with Athena Health, and working with health insurers and PCP's to obtain referrals a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist doctor in caring for patients of all ages (infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric)
Maintain patient confidentiality at all levels of interaction
Greet patients and verify financial/insurance information and referral status if needed, collect copayments
Help schedule follow-up visits and testing as ordered by MD
Enter billing/claims info after the visit
Answer phones to schedule patient appointments, take messages, etc.
Formatting and printing communications to PCP’s for faxing/mailing.
Eventually, getting more involved with billing and working with claims, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 1 year in a medical setting, or medical billing certification
Patient friendly attitude
Commitment to teamwork and attention to detail

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
