Major responsibilities
- Reacting to phone calls in an efficient manner as to maintain the minimum number of rings, as well as, directing inquiries in a detail-oriented and effective manner
- Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures
- Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage
- Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner
- Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations
- Contributing to the management of patient medical records
- Tending to client forms
- Directing patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Order-keeping various files and providing general office duties, e.g. faxing, scanning, data entry, etc.- Prior experience with multi-line phone systems preferred
- Candidates should have experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Receptionist
- Comprehension of medical terminology and insurance products
- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
- High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferred
- 1 or more years of experience handling multi-line phone systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of Answering Inbound Calls
- Knowledge of Receptionist Duties
- Deep understanding of calendar managements and scheduling appointments
- Foundational knowledge in customer service
