Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update medical charts using electronic medical record systems such as NextGen
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems (EMR)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical scheduling software is a plus
